FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Whether you're refreshing one room, furnishing a home or planning a larger renovation, knowing what to expect makes the process easier. Here are answers to some of the questions Moxie hears most often about our interior design services and process.

1.

How long does a typical interior design project take?

The timeline depends on the size and scope of the project. A consultation or room refresh can move relatively quickly, while full furnishing and renovation projects may take several months. Product lead times, approvals, contractor schedules and custom pieces can all affect timing. Moxie reviews the expected timeline at the beginning of the project and keeps clients informed as the work moves forward.

2.

What should I prepare for our first meeting?

Every project begins with a free discovery call so we can learn more about what you're considering and make sure Moxie is the right fit. For the consultation, it helps to have a list of what is working, what isn't, your priorities for the space, an estimated budget and any inspiration images you have saved. Photos or floor plans are helpful when available, but you do not need to have everything figured out before we meet.

3.

Can you incorporate my existing furniture and decor into the design?

Absolutely. Not every project needs to start from scratch. If there are pieces you love or want to keep, Moxie can work them into the new design and build around them with updated furnishings, color, lighting, art or layout changes. Part of the process is deciding what should stay, what could work better somewhere else and what is worth replacing.

4.

How involved will I be in the design process?

Clients are involved at the important decision points, but the amount of day-to-day involvement can vary. Moxie presents options, gathers feedback and confirms key selections while managing the details behind the scenes. Some clients enjoy being closely involved, while others prefer to make the major decisions and let our team take it from there.

5.

Will I be able to see the design before it's implemented?

Yes. Depending on the scope of the project, Moxie uses design presentations, space plans, material selections and renderings to help clients understand the direction before major purchases or installation begin. This gives you an opportunity to review the design, ask questions and approve key decisions before moving forward.

6.

What interior design services does Moxie offer?

Moxie's services are organized into three levels: Refresh, Redesign and Renovation. Refresh is for focused updates such as color consultation, space planning, virtual design and working with furnishings you already own. Redesign is for larger furnishing projects and can include furniture selection, procurement, decor, artwork and installation. Renovation is designed for kitchens, bathrooms and larger remodels involving cabinetry, fixtures, finishes, materials and more extensive design planning.

7.

How do I know whether I need Refresh, Redesign or Renovation?

If your space mainly needs a better layout, new color direction or a fresh set of eyes, Refresh may be enough. If you're furnishing a room or home more completely, Redesign is usually the better fit. If the project involves construction, cabinetry, a kitchen or bathroom, or significant fixture and finish selections, Renovation is the right place to start. The discovery call helps determine which level of service makes the most sense for your project.

8.

Do you offer virtual interior design?

Yes. Moxie's E-Design service is available for clients who want professional design guidance they can implement on their own. Depending on the project, the design can include virtual consultations, mood boards, furniture recommendations, color palettes and layout suggestions.

9.

Can Moxie help with kitchen and bathroom renovations?

Yes. Moxie works on kitchens, bathrooms and larger home renovations, helping clients make decisions about layouts, cabinetry, fixtures, finishes, paint, lighting and materials. For larger projects, the design process can also include coordination with the professionals involved in bringing the renovation together.

10.

Will I be able to see the design before it's implemented?

Moxie Design Group is based in Longwood, Florida and works with homeowners throughout Orlando and Central Florida. Projects have taken Moxie into communities with very different homes, architecture and lifestyles, so the design approach is always based on the property and the people living there rather than a one-size-fits-all look.

10.

How much does an interior design project cost?

Every project is different, so the investment depends on the scope of work, the level of design service, furnishings and materials selected, and whether construction or custom work is involved. During the discovery process, we'll talk about your goals and estimated budget so we can determine the right scope and service for your project.
