PALM COAST, FLORIDA - KITCHEN AND BATH RENOVATION
A RENOVATION BUILT AROUND THE WAY THE HOMEOWNERS LIVE
North Shore is a second residence near the coast that was ready for a major change. The existing kitchen was dark, brown and dated, and the homeowners wanted a brighter space that felt better suited to the setting while giving them more usable room.
Moxie developed the renovation design for the kitchen and primary bathroom while the construction itself was completed by the project trades. In the kitchen, the layout was opened up and reworked around custom cabinetry, a blue, white and gold palette and Big Chill appliances with the café-inspired personality the homeowners loved. An unusual pantry hidden behind cabinetry was opened so it connected more naturally to the rest of the kitchen.
The primary bathroom received an equally significant redesign with custom cabinetry, an oversized round tub and an open shower. The result is a much brighter second residence with rooms that better fit how the homeowners use their time on the coast.

MATERIALS FOR FLORIDA COASTAL LIVING
MATERIALS CHOSEN FOR THE HOME, THE LIFESTYLE, AND THE LOOK
Material selections are one of the ways a coastal home becomes personal. Moxie considers appearance, comfort, maintenance, sunlight and everyday use together, then builds the palette around the direction the homeowner wants the space to take.

STONE
Natural stone can bring movement, texture and a more finished feel to kitchens, baths and living spaces, with options ranging from subtle to dramatic.
.jpg)
WOOD
Wood can add warmth, contrast and architectural depth, whether it appears in cabinetry, furniture, built-ins or smaller finishing details.

TEXTILES
Textiles can bring softness, color and personality to the home, with performance options available for rooms that need to handle more everyday use.

METAL & LIGHTING
Metal finishes and layered lighting can shift the mood of a room, highlight architectural details and give the design another layer once daylight changes.

LIVING SPACES
LIVING SPACES DESIGNED ARUOND THE WAY YOU LIVE
Moxie plans coastal living spaces around the way the homeowner wants to relax, entertain and use the room. Furniture scale, circulation, conversation areas, lighting and exterior views can all work together without making the view the only design decision.

KITCHEN DESIGN FOR COASTAL HOMES
In open coastal homes, the kitchen often connects directly with living and entertaining spaces. Moxie can develop the cabinetry, storage, lighting, surfaces and fixtures around how the homeowners cook, gather and want the kitchen to feel within the larger home.

DIFFERENT COASTAL HOMES CALL FOR DIFFERENT KINDS OF DESIGN HELP
Winter Park is not defined by one architectural style, which means the design opportunities change from neighborhood to neighborhood. Moxie builds the scope around the home in front of us and the vision the client has for it.

PALM COAST HOMES & NEW CONSTRUCTION
Palm Coast includes newer homes, custom construction and established residences where clients may need help with selections, cabinetry, furniture planning and architectural details long before the rooms are furnished.
OCEANFRONT HOMES & CONDOS
Ocean-facing residences from Palm Coast south through Daytona and New Smyrna Beach can call for full-service furnishings, room planning, window treatments and layouts that support everyday living, entertaining and time spent with guests.
INTRACOASTAL, CANAL & RIVER HOMES
Homes close to the Intracoastal and other waterways often connect indoor rooms with docks, porches, pools and outdoor gathering areas. Materials, colors and furniture placement can help those spaces feel related without making everything match.
ONE COAST, MANY TYPES OF HOMES
NEW CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHED HOMES & COMPLETE RENOVATIONS
Palm Coast gives Moxie the opportunity to work with newer construction and established homes where the design can begin with finish selections, furniture planning, custom built-ins and architectural details. Del Palma is one example, with Moxie involved during the new construction process to help shape the kitchen, powder room, main-level finishes, furniture placement, foyer, beam detail and built-in TV wall.
Across the wider coast, older cottages, traditional homes, condos and previously renovated properties create completely different opportunities. Moxie can incorporate details the homeowner already loves, update selected rooms or take the interior in an entirely new direction. The age of the property may shape the starting point, but it does not dictate what the finished home has to become.

There is no single coastal palette. Moxie looks for materials that balance texture, warmth, durability and maintenance, including natural stone, warm woods, performance upholstery and finishes selected for the way the individual property will be used.
Can Moxie renovate an established or older coastal home?
Yes. Moxie can refresh, reconfigure or fully redesign an established coastal home. Depending on the homeowner's goals, the project can incorporate existing features, replace them or take the interior in a completely new direction through layout, cabinetry, lighting, kitchens, baths, storage and finish selections.
Can you furnish a second home or vacation residence?
Yes. Full-service furnishings can include space planning, furniture, rugs, lighting, textiles, artwork, accessories, procurement and installation for qualifying second homes and vacation residences. North Shore in Palm Coast is one example of Moxie's work with a second residence.
When should I hire an interior designer for my coastal project?
Ideally before major layout, cabinetry, plumbing, lighting and finish decisions are finalized. Early design involvement creates more opportunity to coordinate the details and prevent expensive changes later.
