WINTER GARDEN, FL
HISTORIC ROOTS, GROWING NEIGHBORHOODS AND HOMES WITH THEIR OWN POINT OF VIEW
Winter Garden's character comes from the relationship between its historic downtown, its agricultural past and the residential growth that has expanded across west Orange County.
The city was first settled in the nineteenth century along the south shore of Lake Apopka and grew significantly after the railroad arrived in the 1880s. Citrus and vegetable production shaped the local economy, while Plant Street developed into the commercial center. Many of the historic buildings that remain today date from the early twentieth century.
ACCELERATED THE CITY
That history is still visible in the brick-lined downtown, the preserved commercial buildings and the West Orange Trail that now runs through the heart of the city where railroad activity once helped fuel its growth. For residential design, Winter Garden offers a mix of older architecture, established homes and newer construction rather than one dominant house type.

HISTORIC HOMES WITH ROOM FOR A NEW DIRECTION

Older architecture can be a beautiful starting point, but it does not have to determine where the design goes next. Moxie can work with original details a homeowner loves, introduce a completely new interior direction or combine the two through updated layouts, lighting, furnishings and finishes.
ESTABLISHED HOMES READY TO FEEL DIFFERENT

Many projects begin with rooms that have already been remodeled, furnished and changed over time. Moxie can rethink the layout, storage, finishes, furnishings or entire design direction based on what the homeowner wants to accomplish next.
NEWER HOMES MADE PERSONAL
A newer home may already have the square footage and open plan a client wants, while the interior still needs to feel like their own. Furniture, lighting, color, wall treatments, custom details and art can take the home far beyond the original builder selections.

THREE ROOMS, THREE DIFFERENT DESIGN PROBLEMS

Citrus Knoll is a good example of why a home's rooms do not all need the same level of intervention. One space needed a complete custom solution, another received a full redesign, and the primary bedroom was refreshed around furniture the homeowners already owned.
A PERSONALIZED DESIGN DIRECTION
A HOME WHERE EACH ROOM NEEDED SOMETHING DIFFERENT
The largest transformation at Citrus Knoll was a shared study and playroom created for a boy and girl. Moxie designed a full custom built-in workstation with dedicated room for homework, creative activities and everyday use, with the goal of giving the children a space they could continue growing into.

A paneled TV wall, wallpaper accents, new lighting and full furnishings completed the room. Elsewhere in the home, a girl's bedroom received a full redesign with a new identity, while the primary bedroom took a more restrained approach. Moxie kept the homeowners' existing furniture and updated the room through paint, an accent wall and targeted design changes.

DESIGNED FOR THE WAY YOU WANT TO LIVE
BEAUTIFUL ROOMS SHOULD ALSO FEEL RIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE USING THEM
Winter Garden's mix of family neighborhoods, newer development and indoor-outdoor living creates plenty of opportunities to design a home around real life. Family rooms, kitchens, homework spaces, guest rooms and entertaining areas can all be planned around the way each household wants to use them.
Moxie brings the layout, storage, lighting, furnishings, finishes and architectural details together around that vision, whether the project calls for a few focused changes or a complete transformation.
