PALERMO

Longwood, Florida | Home Renovation Interior Design

Palermo was a full second-level renovation in Longwood, with work spanning the kitchen, living area, flooring, fixtures and powder room.

The biggest challenge was space. The existing split floor plan left the homeowners short on storage and usable room in both the kitchen and living area. Moxie completely changed the direction and layout of the kitchen to make room for an eight-foot island, giving the homeowners substantially more work surface and storage.

Double wall ovens were incorporated into the new layout to make better use of the kitchen footprint, while the living room received a custom TV wall measuring roughly 13 feet wide. The arched design replaced a small console setup and created a much more useful feature with additional presence and storage.

New flooring, paint and fixtures carried the changes throughout the second level. The powder room was given a different personality altogether. The homeowners wanted something fun and a little unexpected, so Moxie used the smaller space as an opportunity to take the design in a more playful direction.

The Palermo project was not simply about changing how the second floor looked. The renovation gave the homeowners more storage, better use of the available square footage and spaces that work much better for everyday life.
